Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos moves in looking to clinch but Nguyen pushes him off. Santos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nguyen gets caught napping as Santos dives in and scores a takedown. Nguyen manages to retain guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but Nguyen is retaining full guard. Santos trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Nguyen manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Nguyen postures up and lands a big shot to Santos's brow. Santos wants to stand up but Nguyen is controlling him. Santos working a defensive guard here.

Nguyen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nguyen looking to control.

Nguyen is trying to pull guard but Santos turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Santos has picked Nguyen up - he's going for a ride! Santos dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Santos moves nicely into side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Santos is looking to clinch but Nguyen is avoiding it.
A left lands for Santos. Santos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nguyen's guard. Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but Nguyen is retaining full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santos wants to control from the top but Nguyen keeps moving. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nguyen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Nguyen's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nguyen, pushing him back against the cage. Santos gets control of Nguyen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Santos will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Nguyen wants to get up but he can't break Santos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Santos wants to stand but Nguyen is controlling the position. Santos looking to control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nguyen lands a couple of decent looking shots. Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nguyen gets to his feet. Santos looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Santos closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nguyen did well to prevent Santos getting side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nguyen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Nguyen controls Santos momentarily but Santos frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Miguel Santos. Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
