Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ruben Alamo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sanchez scores with a jab to the jaw.
Alamo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sanchez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Sanchez drives through and clinches with Alamo against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Sanchez.
Sanchez lands a damaging elbow.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sanchez.

Sanchez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Alamo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sanchez to the mat. Sanchez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alamo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.

Sanchez looking for a guillotine here but Alamo defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alamo is one step ahead there.
Alamo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Sanchez has his foot on Alamo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alamo works his way back into a safe position though.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alamo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alamo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Alamo passes Sanchez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Alamo tries to stand and escape but Sanchez is controlling the position.

Alamo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sanchez manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Alamo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alamo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alamo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I really don't envy Sanchez right now.
Sanchez told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sanchez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alamo!

Sanchez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Alamo is on top in guard.
Alamo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.

Alamo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Sanchez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Alamo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Alamo wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Alamo tries to stand and escape but Sanchez is controlling the position.
Sanchez gets full guard.

Sanchez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alamo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sanchez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Alamo uses it to pass to side control.

Sanchez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Alamo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Poor strikes thrown by Alamo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ruben Alamo will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sanchez lands an elbow that stopped Alamo in his tracks for a moment.

Alamo gets control of Sanchez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alamo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Alamo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sanchez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alamo.

Sanchez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alamo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Antonio Sanchez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sanchez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
