Overeem drops Tompkins with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tompkins looks back up at him and smiles so Overeem waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Steve Tompkins has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tompkins slips under a jab from Overeem .
Alistair Overeem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Overeem throws an overhand right that drops Tompkins like a sack of potatoes! Overeem dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
