The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benedict dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bictashev. That did some damage! Bictashev gets a clinch. Benedict misses with a short punch on the inside. Benedict scores with a nice hook to the head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Benedict. Bictashev throws a head punch that misses. Bictashev prevents a body shot from Benedict. Bictashev is pressed up against the cage. Benedict has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bictashev down to the mat. Bictashev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Benedict takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bictashev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Benedict did well to prevent Bictashev getting side control. Benedict is staying active underneath Bictashev, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Benedict regains full guard. Nicely done. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bictashev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Benedict is proving hard to escape from. Benedict pushes a forearm under Bictashev's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Bictashev is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
