Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roland Macdonald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bjorn Bogart! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macdonald shoots in and drives through. Bogart sprawls well. Macdonald pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Macdonald closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bogart quickly recovers to half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Macdonald trying to mount his opponent but Bogart defends it. Macdonald tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bogart controls his leg. Bogart is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bogart works his way to full guard. Good work. Bogart wants to sweep but no luck. Macdonald trying to control but Bogart is working from the bottom. Bogart pulls Macdonald in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macdonald looking to pass the guard. Bogart keeping moving, preventing Macdonald from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roland Macdonald. Macdonald shoots in for a takedown but Bogart shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bogart goes for a double leg but Macdonald avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Macdonald continues to drive forward. Macdonald has had enough of the clinch but Bogart keeps him there for the moment. Macdonald tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bogart smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roland Macdonald. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bogart looks to score with a jab to the body but Macdonald is just out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macdonald closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bogart to the mat! Bogart manages to get full guard. Macdonald sitting in guard here, content to control. Bogart has Macdonald pulled in close to control his posture. Bogart looks winded! Macdonald tries to free his leg and advance position but Bogart is retaining full guard. Macdonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Bogart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Roland Macdonald has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Macdonald tries to clinch up and Bogart counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Macdonald could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bogart is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Macdonald sees it coming and defends easily. Bogart is trying to work for a kimura but Macdonald is defending well.
Macdonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bogart is working away from the top position though. Bogart wants to take a breather but Macdonald is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Macdonald works his way to full guard. Good work. Macdonald is trying to hold Bogart in close to prevent damage but Bogart has managed to pass into half guard.
Macdonald is trying to maintain the position but Bogart is very close to passing his half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roland Macdonald dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Macdonald misses with a takedown attempt so Bogart counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Macdonald has a closed guard, preventing Bogart from standing up. Macdonald being controlled here, momentarily. Macdonald controlling Bogart's posture. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Macdonald tries to clinch there but Bogart circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macdonald fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bogart to the ground. Macdonald is now in Bogart's guard. Bogart wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Macdonald is now in half guard. Bogart is breathing heavily. Macdonald is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bogart has managed to free his arm - good work. Macdonald is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bogart wants to get back to full guard. Macdonald throwing shots but Bogart is blocking nicely. Macdonald is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogart is holding on to half guard well. Bogart is staying active underneath Macdonald, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bogart trying to control from the bottom.
Macdonald content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Macdonald is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like he's just sitting there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Macdonald tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Bogart has advanced to mount. Uh oh. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bogart controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bjorn Bogart will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Macdonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Macdonald wants it to stay on the feet. Bogart stuffs the takedown. Macdonald shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bogart is looking to improve his position.
Bogart won't allow Macdonald to pass to mount. Bogart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bogart trying to hold on to Macdonald's head to control him but Macdonald postures up.

Macdonald slips nicely into half guard. Bogart is looking for a sweep. Macdonald is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Macdonald wants to stand but Bogart has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Bogart is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Macdonald's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Macdonald's back! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Macdonald rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Macdonald fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bogart sprawls well initially but Macdonald persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Macdonald is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bogart manages to get to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bogart looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Roland Macdonald showed his dominance in that final round. Well Macdonald has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
