Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jung Su Bin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jung Su Bin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thurman Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jung Su Bin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope misses with a wild body shot.
Su Bin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pope manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Su Bin stuns Pope with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A head kick misses from Pope.
Su Bin with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Su Bin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Su Bin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Su Bin wants to clinch up but Pope keeps it at a distance.

Su Bin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pope swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pope pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Su Bin is looking to clinch but Pope is avoiding it.

and Pope cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Su Bin throws a leg kick which misses Pope's front leg but catches the back leg as Pope tries to avoid it.

A nice leg kick lands there from Su Bin.
Su Bin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pope backs up against the cage.
Pope tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Su Bin darts in and clinches Pope up against the cage.

Pope pulls guard successfully.

Su Bin throws an elbow that misses. Pope uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Su Bin's guard. Nice move by Pope!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jung Su Bin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Su Bin moves out of range of the body kick.
Su Bin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Su Bin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Su Bin darts in and clinches Pope up against the cage.
Pope tries to pull guard but Su Bin forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pope is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Su Bin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Pope's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Su Bin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Pope misses with the combination.

Pope throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pope is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Pope has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Jung Su Bin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pope has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Su Bin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pope is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Su Bin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
