Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Reaper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tor Troeng!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reaper ducks right into an uppercut from Troeng.
Reaper walks into a stiff left hand from Troeng.
Reaper drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Troeng wants to get back to his feet but Reaper is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Troeng is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reaper stops Troeng from standing up.
Reaper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reaper trying to control but Troeng is working from the bottom.
Troeng pulls Reaper in close to prevent any damage.
Reaper tries to free his leg and advance position but Troeng is retaining full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Reaper takes one to the chin there.
Reaper moves forwards but Troeng connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Troeng wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Reaper is breathing heavily.
Reaper takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice sprawl there from Troeng as Reaper shoots in.
Reaper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Reaper gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Troeng gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tor Troeng!
Tor Troeng decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
