Lindel comes to the cage accompanied by Clawfinger - Biggest & The Best . York comes into a darkened arena with his song building. British Grenadiers Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikael Lindel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nigel York! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from York enables Lindel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. York manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Lindel trying to control the position from guard on top but York is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lindel looking to pass the guard. Lindel content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lindel trying to control but York is working from the bottom. Lindel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lindel looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindel controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lindel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lindel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. York has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Lindel trying to control but York is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. York getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Mikael Lindel has been cut. Lindel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lindel checks a leg kick nicely. Nigel York is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lindel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but York defends well and Lindel ends up having to push York into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Lindel tries to stall but York uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. York's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lindel shoots in looking for a takedown. York tries to sprawl out of it but Lindel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. York manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lindel clinches. Lindel wants to take the fight to the mat but York manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Lindel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. York is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Lindel misses with the head strike.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lindel. York misses with a body punch.

Lindel is trying to drag York to the mat but York just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. York tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Lindel has a couple of punches blocked by York.
Lindel has York pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lindel pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending York tumbling to the mat - Lindel dives into York's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lindel wants to control from the top but York keeps moving. York looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lindel is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. York keeping moving, preventing Lindel from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikael Lindel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mikael Lindel's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
York clobbers Lindel with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Lindel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lindel tries to pass to full mount but York defends it. Lindel trying to control from half guard but York is working away. Lindel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lindel not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lindel controlling the action here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lindel tries to pass the half guard into mount. York knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindel with the ground and pound but York uses the opportunity to regain guard. Lindel throwing strikes but missing. Lindel wants to control from the top but York keeps moving. Lindel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. York tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lindel sitting in guard, not really doing much. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Lindel throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. York keeping moving, preventing Lindel from controlling successfully. Lindel stopping the sweep attempt from York. Lindel postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lindel fails with a takedown attempt. York walks into a jab. York attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lindel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lindel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but York avoids it really well and circles away. Lindel doesn't manage to clinch there - York circles away.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Lindel here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Lindel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A big left from Lindel misses. York throws a body punch but Lindel moves out of range. Lindel has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikael Lindel. That's going to take a lot out of him. York blocks a jab. York thows a body shot but no joy. Lindel looks to throw the jab but York is out of range. York keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
York looks to land a right hand but Lindel moved out of range. Mikael Lindel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lindel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from York.

York thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lindel if he has to take too many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. York looks to throw the jab but Lindel is out of range. A thudding body kick lands there by York!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A slow jab from Lindel misses its intended target. Lindel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. York defends it nicely. York lands with a shot to the body. York stuffs the takedown. York scoring well with a low kick there.

Lindel looks up at the clock. Bad move! York lands a right hand from hell, dropping Lindel. York pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
