Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rusty Orr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Rock! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rock scores with a takedown into Orr's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rock wants to control from the top but Orr keeps moving. Orr throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rock controls from within his opponent's guard. Rock tries to free his leg and advance position but Orr is retaining full guard. Rock trying to control but Orr is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bruce Rock has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Orr shoots in for a double leg but Rock sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rock closes the distance and clinches. Orr jumps guard but Rock stands there with Orr around his waist. Orr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Orr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rock walks away with a smile on his face. Orr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rusty Orr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rock drives through and clinches with Orr against the cage.
Orr tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rock has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Orr clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rock has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Rock looks winded! Orr has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orr is trying to break free.
Rock is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Orr is defending well though. Rock let's go of the attempt for now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rock is persistently looking for the submission but Orr is defending it well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rock has the hooks in. Orr is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rock is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Orr is defending well though. Rock let's go of the attempt for now. Rock is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Orr breaks Rock's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Orr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rock is looking to stand up but Orr isn't so interested in that idea. Rock is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Orr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rock wants to get back to his feet but Orr is in a dominant position and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orr is looking to clinch. Orr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Orr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rock paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rock moves into the clinch successfully.
Rock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Orr moves in looking to clinch but Rock pushes him off. Rock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Orr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rock pulls his head out easily. Rock prevents Orr from improving his position. Orr works his way to full guard. Good work. Rock is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rock is looking to pass into half guard but Orr pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Orr is in guard. Orr throwing strikes but missing. Rock looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Orr passes into side control.
Orr working away. Rock might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Orr haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orr lands a nice forearm strike. Rock tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Orr is in the full mount, landing strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rock can do anything to dispel that myth. Rock is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Orr looking to ground and pound but Rock is blocking nicely. Rock is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Orr is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rock can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Orr is looking to work his way around to Rock's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Rock tries to hold on but Orr postures up. Orr tries to control but Rock wriggling away. Rock wants to control but Orr is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Orr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rock is looking to escape. Rock working to try and regain half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rusty Orr will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Rock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Orr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rock trying to control but Orr is working from the bottom. Orr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rock defends it easily. Rock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rock sitting in guard here, content to control. Bruce Rock has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rock drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Orr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rock has Orr in his guard. Rock has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Orr is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orr fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Orr gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Rock being controlled here, momentarily. Rock wants to control the position but Orr says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Orr blocks the strikes from Rock.

Orr throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Orr is thwarting Rock's attempts to control the position. Rock is looking to get back to full guard here but Orr has managed to pass to side control instead. Orr is looking to take a break and control but Rock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Orr creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. A lull in the action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rock is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rusty Orr. I think Orr has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
