The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seamon drops his hands momentarily and Schmeyer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Seamon shoots in looking for a takedown. Schmeyer tries to sprawl out of it but Seamon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schmeyer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Seamon stalks Schmeyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Schmeyer's face. Schmeyer staggers backwards, shaken.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Seamon tries to close the distance and clinch but Schmeyer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Seamon shoots in but no luck this time.
Seamon is trying desperately to land a takedown but Schmeyer is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Seamon.
