Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arlen Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Rozalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arlen Randall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcin Rozalski! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Randall shoots for a double leg takedown but Rozalski sprawls well. He's pushed Randall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rozalski throws a front kick that sends Randall stumbling back into the cage. Randall shoots in and drives through. Rozalski sprawls well. Randall tries to close the distance and clinch but Rozalski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jab by Rozalski.
It looks like Arlen Randall has been cut. Randall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Randall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rozalski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rozalski closes the distance and pushes Randall back into the cage. Rozalski decides to pull guard. Rozalski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Randall prevents Rozalski from getting back to his feet. Randall is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Randall tries to stand but Rozalski is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rozalski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Randall trying to control but Rozalski is working from the bottom. Rozalski controls Randall momentarily but Randall frees himself. Randall trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rozalski is trying to control the position but Randall postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Randall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rozalski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Randall somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arlen Randall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Randall misses with a head kick.
Rozalski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Randall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rozalski's waist but Rozalski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Randall off to one side. Rozalski circles away from the clinch attempt and Rozalski counters with a stiff right hand. Randall is breathing heavily. Rozalski fails in his attempt to clinch. Rozalski defending well as Randall loads up on a big left hand. Rozalski tries to clinch but Randall moves out of range. Rozalski scores with a hook to the body. Randall takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. This has been an exciting period of action! Rozalski avoids the head kick by Randall.
Randall tries to keep at a distance but Rozalski has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rozalski gets control of Randall's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rozalski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rozalski wants to sweep but no luck. Rozalski keeping moving, preventing Randall from controlling successfully. Rozalski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Randall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Randall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rozalski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Randall defends it easily. Rozalski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Randall's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rozalski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Randall is proving hard to escape from. Rozalski gets to his feet. Randall looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Rozalski tries to clinch and Randall counters with a series of strikes. Rozalski will be more careful next time no doubt. Rozalski instigates a clinch. Rozalski goes for a takedown attempt but Randall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Randall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rozalski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Randall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcin Rozalski dominated that round. The cut man is working on Arlen Randall's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rozalski throws a front kick that sends Randall stumbling back into the cage. Rozalski fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Marcin Rozalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Randall shoots in for a takedown but Rozalski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Marcin Rozalski seems to be getting the better of the standup. Randall gets caught flat footed, as Rozalski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rozalski wants to get up but he can't break Randall's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rozalski wants to control from the top but Randall keeps moving. Randall trying to control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rozalski stands and steps away. Randall gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rozalski tries to bum rush Randall with a series of wild strikes but Randall uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rozalski lands with a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rozalski lands with a right hand. Rozalski connects with a solid leg kick. Rozalski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rozalski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Randall sprawls well. Randall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rozalski gets slowly back to his feet. Rozalski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rozalski wants to clinch up but Randall keeps it at a distance. Rozalski misses with a kick to the body.
Randall bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Randall is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rozalski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rozalski manages to work his way to half guard, despite Randall's best efforts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Randall wants to take a breather but Rozalski is having none of it. Rozalski wants to get back to full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Randall missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Randall throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rozalski is looking to get back to is feet but Randall passes into side control.
The ground and pound from Randall seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Rozalski is looking to regain half guard here but Randall keeps moving and retains side control. Rozalski is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Randall has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Rozalski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rozalski is trying to work for a sweep but Randall has mounted him! Randall controlling his opponent. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rozalski. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Randall throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Rozalski is desperately trying to improve his position but Randall has a good base and remains in mount.

Randall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Randall stands up and waves to Rozalski to follow him. Rozalski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Randall paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rozalski closes the distance and clinches. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rozalski tries to pull guard but Randall won't allow it.
Arlen Randall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcin Rozalski. Rozalski wants to get back to striking at distance but Randall won't allow it.
Arlen Randall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marcin Rozalski is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Rozalski is looking to take this one to the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Marcin Rozalski. Well Rozalski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
