Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hamish Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Linequer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamish Gunn could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joao Linequer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hamish Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joao Linequer! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Linequer. Gunn stuffs the takedown attempt from Linequer. Linequer gets slowly back to his feet. Linequer shoots in looking for a takedown but Gunn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Linequer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Linequer's coach down at Iron Fist Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Linequer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Hamish Gunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao Linequer. Gunn moves into the clinch. Linequer stalling in the clinch.
Linequer tries a knee to the head but Gunn blocks it.
Gunn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gunn instigates a clinch. Gunn managing to block the knees to the body from Linequer.
Gunn has Linequer pressed against the cage, preventing Linequer from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Linequer tries to score a body lock takedown but Gunn shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Linequer gets through Gunn's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've been hearing reports that Gunn has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Gunn jumps guard but Linequer turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gunn misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round. Linequer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A leg kick checked by Linequer. Linequer moves out of range of the strikes. Linequer closes the distance and clinches. Gunn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Linequer walks away with a smile on his face. Gunn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Linequer misses with a takedown attempt - Gunn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gunn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Linequer defends it nicely. Linequer gets a clinch. Gunn is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Linequer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gunn backwards. Gunn fails to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Linequer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gunn backwards. Gunn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Linequer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gunn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Linequer is fending him off so far but Gunn persists. Nope, Linequer circles away and we're back to standing. Gunn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Linequer as he jumps to the side. Linequer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gunn is fending him off so far but Linequer persists. Nope, Gunn circles away and we're back to standing. Linequer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gunn. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Linequer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gunn did well to prevent Linequer getting side control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Linequer is stalling here. Gunn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Linequer seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gunn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Gunn works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Linequer is looking to get back to his feet here but Gunn is keeping cool and he's managed to take Linequer's back. Linequer looks winded! Gunn controlling the position well here. Linequer rolled but Gunn kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Gunn has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Linequer! Can he survive? No! He's out! Gunn gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
