Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Odell Craig! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seraisas Salavikpov! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salavikpov throws a head kick that misses. Salavikpov gets caught napping as Craig dives in and scores a takedown. Salavikpov manages to retain guard. Craig working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Salavikpov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salavikpov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Salavikpov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Craig doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Craig manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Craig chips away with some ground and pound. Craig throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salavikpov throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Salavikpov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Craig throwing strikes from guard but Salavikpov blocks nicely. Salavikpov trying to keep a closed guard but Craig is proving a slippery customer.
Salavikpov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Craig defends well. Craig postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Salavikpov tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Craig with a flurry of punches that miss. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Craig's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Craig might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Salavikpov wants to sweep but no luck. Salavikpov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Craig throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Craig knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salavikpov on the ground. Salavikpov keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Craig missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Salavikpov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Craig won't allow Salavikpov to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Craig working some strikes from top position. Salavikpov controls Craig momentarily but Craig frees himself. Craig throws a big right hand that misses. Salavikpov wants to get back to his feet but Craig is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Craig has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Craig throwing strikes from guard but Salavikpov blocks nicely. Craig could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Salavikpov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salavikpov has momentary wrist control but Craig slips an elbow through the middle. Craig throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Craig won't allow Salavikpov to get back to his feet. Craig in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Craig is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Craig seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Craig postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Odell Craig will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Salavikpov throws a head kick that misses. Salavikpov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Salavikpov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Craig blocking the ground and pound attempt from Salavikpov. Salavikpov prevents Craig from standing back up.
Salavikpov missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Craig tries to roll over but Salavikpov keeps him under control. Salavikpov is looking to take a break and control but Craig is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Salavikpov works his way into side control. Salavikpov wants to stand but Craig has his arm trapped. Salavikpov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Craig keeps working. Craig regains half guard. Craig looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salavikpov is stalling here. Craig is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Salavikpov seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Craig has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Salavikpov is trying to control Craig's posture but Craig avoids it. Craig tries to score with some ground and pound. Salavikpov controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Craig working the ground and pound but Salavikpov is defending the strikes. Salavikpov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Salavikpov wants to get back to full guard. Salavikpov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Craig scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salavikpov is trying to get back to full guard. Salavikpov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Craig. Craig missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Craig throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Salavikpov is controlling Craig's trapped leg to prevent Craig from advancing to side control. Salavikpov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Craig scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salavikpov is trying to stand.
Craig winds up and cracks Salavikpov with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Salavikpov tries to get to full guard but Craig has control of the leg. Salavikpov is breathing heavily. Salavikpov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Craig. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Craig lands a nice short elbow. Craig tries to stand and escape but Salavikpov actually recovers to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Salavikpov controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Seraisas Salavikpov will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Craig fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salavikpov sprawls well initially but Craig persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Craig throwing shots but Salavikpov is blocking nicely. Craig thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Salavikpov's head. Salavikpov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Craig. Craig throwing shots but Salavikpov is blocking nicely. Salavikpov has hold of Craig's hands but Craig slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Salavikpov looks like he's trying to stand up.
Salavikpov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Salavikpov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Craig's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Craig's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Salavikpov trying to control momentarily.
Craig rolls, trying to escape but Salavikpov keeps control of the position.
Craig controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Salavikpov trying to control. Salavikpov struggling to land strikes to the head as Craig covers up. Will Salavikpov go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Salavikpov throwing damaging strikes from the back! Craig could be in trouble here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salavikpov tries to keep control of the position but Craig is staying busy. Craig is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Salavikpov off. It looks like it's working - Salavikpov slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Craig displaying calm under pressure there. Salavikpov misses with a head kick.
Craig shoots and misses and Salavikpov counters with a takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Craig avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Salavikpov. Salavikpov wants to stand but Craig is controlling his arm. Craig is trying to improve his position. Craig wants to get back to his feet but Salavikpov is dominant here and he's now got Craig's back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Craig is trying to get back to his feet but Salavikpov has full control of the position and if anything, Craig has just worked his way into a worse spot. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Craig is trying to defend against the choke here but Salavikpov has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Salavikpov Tightens the hold and Craig taps out furiously! Salavikpov displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Seraisas Salavikpov!
