Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has a takedown stuffed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.

Silva dives in and scores a takedown into Matterhorn's guard.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Matterhorn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matterhorn manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Matterhorn's guard.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva trying to control but Matterhorn is working from the bottom.
Silva forces his way into half guard.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Matterhorn has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matterhorn has his hands clasped together around Silva's back. He's all about the action.

Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Matterhorn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Silva prevents Matterhorn from improving his position.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva thows a huge punch but Matterhorn dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matterhorn is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.
Silva moves into full mount! Matterhorn won't be happy about that!

Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Matterhorn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Matterhorn shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Matterhorn takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Silva avoids the attempt from Matterhorn to control.

Silva has hold of Matterhorn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Matterhorn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silva working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Matterhorn turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Silva off and cradles Matterhorn's limp body as Silva celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Antonio Silva!
A very excited looking Antonio Silva rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
The defeated Ulrich Matterhorn had this to say: 'Aargh! You're not even a Yeti!'.
