Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Douglas McCullough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James McGuiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCullough comes to the cage accompanied by The Dubliners- Molly Malone . Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Douglas McCullough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James McGuiness!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuiness misses with a straight right.
James McGuiness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A shot to the liver by McGuiness. Beautiful body shot.
McGuiness misses with a left hand

and McCullough counters with a head kick that drops McGuiness!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McCullough wants to control from the top but McGuiness keeps moving.
McGuiness really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCullough. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McCullough is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McCullough stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuiness swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McCullough drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McCullough jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCullough drops back looking for a leg! McGuiness is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGuiness manages to kick McCullough off! McCullough jumps back into McGuiness's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McGuiness takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

McGuiness digs a good hook to McCullough's body.
McCullough definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

McCullough fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGuiness, pushing him back against the cage.

McCullough pulls guard successfully.
McCullough keeping moving, preventing McGuiness from controlling successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James McGuiness.
McCullough's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McGuiness connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McCullough scrambles back to his feet.
McGuiness throws out a loose jab but McCullough uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGuiness lands with a straight right. McCullough didn't see that one coming.
McGuiness is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCullough.
McGuiness fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McCullough closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGuiness circles away.
McCullough changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGuiness tries to avoid it but McCullough manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGuiness to the ground. McGuiness escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCullough misses with a head kick.
A telegraphed right hand from McGuiness misses the target.
McCullough takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

McGuiness misses with a hook. McCullough ducked under it nicely.
McCullough slips a straight right by McGuiness.
McGuiness looks to score with a jab to the body but McCullough is just out of range.
McCullough staying out of range there.
McCullough takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
James McGuiness is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGuiness misses with a right hand
and McCullough counters with a head kick. That will keep McGuiness thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGuiness lands with an overhand left.
McGuiness takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
McCullough misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGuiness pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McGuiness feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McCulloughs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
McCullough takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
McGuiness avoids the head kick by McCullough.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGuiness swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McCullough tries to move into range but McGuiness moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
McGuiness dips to his left and cracks McCullough with an uppercut!


McCullough is rocked!
McCullough gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! McGuiness gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! McCullough is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James McGuiness!
James McGuiness very nearly forgot to thank Ace of Spades Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
