PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kryptonite. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Norris!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin thuds his shin into the meat of Norris's side.
Martin avoids the head kick by Norris.
Norris staying out of range there.
Norris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd cheers as Martin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Norris doesn't seem phased though.
Norris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Steve Martin has been cut.
Martin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Martin misses with a double jab
and Norris counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Martin thinking.
Norris on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Martin avoids the head kick by Norris.
We've been told by Martin's head coaches at K.O. Koala's that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Norris with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Norris ducks under a wild hook from Martin.
Martin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Martin cracks Norris with a right hand to the side of the head.
Norris drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Martin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Norris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Norris does a little dance to reset his feet.
Norris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Norris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin catches Norris with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Martin looks to score with a jab to the body but Norris is just out of range.
Norris moves out of range as Martin strikes.
Martin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Norris. That did some damage!
Norris pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Norris throws a hook but Martin avoids it easily.
Martin scores with a kick to the midsection.
Martin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Norris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Martin.
Steve Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Martin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Norris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Martin connects with a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Norris.
Martin tests Norris's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Martin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Norris to score with a decent uppercut.
Martin cracks the inside of Norris's front leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Martin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Martin throws a shot to the body.
Norris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Norris walks into a jab.


Norris is rocked!
Norris walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Martin! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Steve Martin!
Our winner, Steve Martin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
