Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Puno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Li Fen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Its The Final Countdown. Li Fen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fen staying out of range there.
Puno goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fen shoots in looking for a takedown. Puno tries to sprawl out of it but Fen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Puno manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Fen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Puno's waist but Puno gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fen off to one side.

Fen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Puno paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A close round but Li Fen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Puno throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Fen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fen stands up from Puno's guard - Fen perhaps looking for a knockout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Puno.

Puno throws a jab when Fen was well out of range.
Fen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Puno is fending him off so far but Fen persists. Nope, Puno circles away and we're back to standing.

Horrible takedown by Fen or perhaps it was just good defense by Puno which made him look bad.

Puno cracks Fen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Puno connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Puno counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Puno counters with a head kick. That will keep Fen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Puno is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Puno thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fen's head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
