Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ross Middleton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ncolas St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Middleton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ncolas St Pierre! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St Pierre shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Middleton's guard. Middleton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. St Pierre controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Middleton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Middleton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Middleton tries to land a sweep but no joy. St Pierre controls the pace of the fight for a moment. St Pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. St Pierre stands up and waves to Middleton to follow him. St Pierre misses with the combination.
St Pierre scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Middleton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by St Pierre. St Pierre scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. St Pierre tries to advance to mount but Middleton denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Middleton is trying to work for a sweep but St Pierre has mounted him! St Pierre controlling from the full mount. Middleton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
St Pierre sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Middleton wants to control but St Pierre is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. St Pierre controlling the position easily from mount. St Pierre with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Middleton is in all sorts of trouble here.

Middleton tries to get back to half guard but can't. St Pierre avoids the attempt from Middleton to control. Middleton tries to control the position but St Pierre now has his back.
St Pierre keeps control of the position easily here as Middleton tries to buck him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. St Pierre slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Middleton is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if St Pierre gets his way!
St Pierre is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Middleton knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Middleton for a finish. Middleton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. St Pierre keeps control of the position easily here as Middleton tries to buck him off.
Middleton tries to roll but St Pierre sticks to his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
St Pierre is not going to allow Middleton to sit and survive in this position. Middleton is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
St Pierre controls the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. I really don't envy Middleton right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ncolas St Pierre dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A head kick by Middleton misses letting St Pierre counter with a right hand. Middleton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but St Pierre defends well and Middleton ends up having to push St Pierre into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. St Pierre with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Ross Middleton has been cut. Middleton has St Pierre pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. St Pierre manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. St Pierre breaks from the clinch.

St Pierre throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Middleton crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
