The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matlakow defending well as Conner loads up on a big left hand.

Matlakow pushes Conner up against the cage in a clinch.

Matlakow turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Matlakow wants to stand but Conner is controlling his arm.
Conner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Conner is working hard here to advance position.
Matlakow tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Conner is looking to regain half guard here but Matlakow keeps moving and retains side control.
Conner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matlakow on the ground.
Conner is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Matlakow is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Conner wants to get back to his feet.
Conner bucks up and tries to throw Matlakow off but instead Matlakow has got his back!
Matlakow lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Conner is trying to defend against the choke here but Matlakow has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Matlakow Tightens the hold and Conner taps out furiously! Matlakow displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
