The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ratliff shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Penn looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ratliff is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Penn is looking for a sweep. Ratliff is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Penn is trying to stand back up but Ratliff is controlling him

Penn has momentary wrist control but Ratliff slips an elbow through the middle. Ratliff will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
