Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benny Cruz!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kelly did well to prevent Cruz getting side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kelly is trying to stand up here but Cruz is controlling him well.
Cruz is nestled in close to Kelly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Cruz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kelly defending well though.
Kelly on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kelly wants to get back to his feet.
Cruz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kelly is trying to stand up here but Cruz is controlling him well.

Kelly makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Cruz shoots and misses
and Kelly counters with a body kick that stops Cruz in his tracks momentarily.
Kelly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Kelly which made him look bad.
Kelly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cruz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ron Kelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Cruz.
Kelly misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cruz.

Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelly's waist but Kelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side.

Kelly throws a series of punches but Cruz moves out of range.
Kelly throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cruz slips a jab and a cross from Kelly.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kelly thuds a left hand into Cruz's body.
Kelly scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kelly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cruz.
Kelly connects with a looping right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cruz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kelly avoids it really well and circles away.
Benny Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelly shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cruz eats them both and turns towards Kelly to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cruz shoots in for a double leg but Kelly sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kelly looks to land a combination but Cruz avoids it well.
Cruz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kelly. That's going to slow Cruz down.
Kelly lunges at Cruz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cruz's hand.
Cruz is still on wobbly legs! Can Kelly finish him?
Kelly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cruz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelly's waist but Kelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side.
Cruz seems to have recovered his senses.
Kelly throws a nice looking combination but Cruz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kelly moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly lands a jab to the nose.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Kelly throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Cruz is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ron Kelly!
An out of breath Ron Kelly thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
