Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Flynn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Marx! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Marx. Flynn tries to improve position but can't. Flynn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marx asserts his dominance and retains side control. Marx advances to full mount. Flynn is squirming around, avoiding Marx's attempts to control the action. Marx unloads with some shots from mount but Flynn bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marx sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Flynn can't escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Flynn sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Marx perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Flynn tries to kick Marx off but Marx keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Flynn wants to improve his position but Marx is controlling well.
Marx is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Flynn still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Flynn has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Marx tries to buck Flynn off but Flynn is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flynn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Marx knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

He has the arm isolated but Marx is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Flynn is trying to get an arm triangle but Marx is defending well.

Flynn swings around for an armbar but Marx sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Flynn's guard. Flynn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marx is aware though and is defending well. Flynn can't keep his opponent in guard - Marx advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Marx is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Flynn is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
