The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jouda avoids the body shot from Shinjo.
Shinjo scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jouda throws a looping overhand right but Shinjo ducks down to avoid it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shinjo.
Shinjo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shinjo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jouda has his hands clasped together but Shinjo extends and breaks Jouda's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Shinjo.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sho Shinjo!
After winning the bout, Sho Shinjo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
