Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Varona! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomo Fukasawa! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fukasawa throws a combination. Varona tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Varona closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fukasawa's guard. Fukasawa is looking for a triangle but Varona pushes his legs off easily.
Varona drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Varona jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Varona prevents Fukasawa from getting back to his feet. Varona landing with the ground and pound. Varona works a leg free and moves into half guard. Varona seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Varona is working for a submission of some sort.
Fukasawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Varona. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Varona in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fukasawa tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Varona!
