The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRaven takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McRaven fails with the takedown
letting Lecture counter with a right hand.
Lecture stalks McRaven and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McRaven's face. McRaven staggers backwards, shaken.
McRaven misses with a takedown
and McRaven takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lecture gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lecture looking to hit a scissor sweep but McRaven is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lecture avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lecture wants to get back to his feet but McRaven is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

McRaven works over Lecture with some ground and pound from guard.

McRaven distracts Lecture with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

McRaven is in close to Lecture's body, working some short punches and elbows.

McRaven stands up over Lecture, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
McRaven is looking to work some ground and pound but Lecture has wrist control.

McRaven has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McRaven stands up over Lecture, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
McRaven is fighting to break Lecture's control of his arms but Lecture is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
McRaven is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Lecture is pulling down on McRaven's head. It's preventing any offense from McRaven, at least for the moment.
Lecture really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McRaven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McRaven is working Lecture over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lecture can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lecture controls McRaven momentarily but McRaven frees himself.
Lecture utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McRaven arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Lecture's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
