PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Boggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Boggs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Miami Vice Theme" by Jan Hammer. Tyson Boggs had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith gets caught napping as Boggs dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Smith trying to control the position.
Smith is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Boggs frees his head nicely. Oh but Smith has switched to an armbar! Boggs is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Jeff Smith!
