Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bushido Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Raine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home. Raine has chosen DMX : It's Dark & Hell Is Hot as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bushido Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldo Raine! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown throws an off balance right hand
and Raine counters with a stiff right hand. Brown has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym in the buildup to the fight. Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Raine swivels and escapes. Brown thumps Raine with a low kick. Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raine paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Raine swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Raine tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Brown misses with a body kick. Brown is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brown misses with a hook. Raine ducked under it nicely. Raine stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Raine wants it to stay on the feet. Brown gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Raine counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bushido Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him. Raine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brown gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Raine counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Raine sprawls well. Raine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brown gets slowly back to his feet. Raine throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brown. Raine comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Raine moves into the clinch successfully.
Raine is trying to pull guard but Brown has him pressed against the cage. Raine fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A short left from Raine. Raine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brown dodges the punch combination from Raine.
Brown takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Bushido Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Raine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Raine working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brown is looking for a sweep. Brown prevents Raine from improving position. Brown tries to bench press Raine off him but Raine keeps the position. Brown manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Brown seems to be looking for submissions.
Brown lands with a punch from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown throws a strike but Raine avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Brown postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Brown keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Raine's head. Raine keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. Brown looking to sit in guard and control but Raine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Raine advances position into side control! Raine has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Brown is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Raine yanks on the arm and Brown is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Raine.
