Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Obi Konbi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Williams!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams pushes Konbi away with a front kick.
Konbi is breathing heavily.
Konbi tries to keep at a distance but Williams has taken the fight into the clinch.
Williams has Konbi pushed against the ropes.
Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Williams goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Obi Konbi has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Konbi tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Konbi keeps working.
Williams winds up and cracks Konbi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Williams stands up from half guard.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Konbi as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Konbi throws a head kick that misses
and Williams counters with a three punch combo that has Konbi backing up. Konbi nods at Williams to acknowledge the strikes.
Williams throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Konbi crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Pete Williams!
