Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Urijah Faber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Kelleher! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelleher thuds a left hand into Faber's body. A punch combination from Kelleher misses. Faber drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Faber wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kelleher keeps working. Kelleher is looking to reverse the position. Kelleher looks gassed! Faber stands up and we're back to a striking position. Faber misses with a takedown attempt - Kelleher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Faber darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kelleher is looking to improve his position.
Faber scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Faber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Faber looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelleher wants to get back to full guard. Kelleher is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Faber lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Faber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kelleher can do anything to dispel that myth. Faber stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kelleher to get to his feet. A chopping leg kick lands by Faber. Faber closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Faber looks up at the clock and then as Kelleher takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Faber smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kelleher is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Faber stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kelleher tries to buck Faber off but Faber is having none of it. Kelleher tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Faber presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Faber has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Faber has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kelleher's face.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Faber wants to control the pace but Kelleher is squirming around nicely. Faber with good strikes from the mount here! Faber lands with some strikes. Faber trying to control but Kelleher is having none of it.

Faber fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Faber dominating with strikes here. Faber with a couple of short strikes. Faber landing strikes from the mount and Kelleher is in trouble! Kelleher is looking to improve his position but Faber isn't that keen on the idea. Faber tries to control but Kelleher wriggling away. Faber prevents Kelleher from getting the reversal. Faber unloading with bombs! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelleher is looking to improve his position but Faber isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Faber working for a submission but Kelleher is keeping him at bay. Kelleher is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Urijah Faber dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Faber fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Faber fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Faber tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kelleher swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Urijah Faber. That's going to take a lot out of him. Faber moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kelleher takes a swing at Faber's ribcage but misses. Kelleher throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kelleher misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kelleher misses with a looping left. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Faber will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kelleher avoids the head kick by Faber.
Faber keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kelleher. Horrible takedown by Kelleher or perhaps it was just good defense by Faber which made him look bad. The fight moves into the clinch position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kelleher blocks an uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Faber fails to land. Kelleher prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kelleher has had enough of the clinch but Faber keeps him there for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelleher wants to break the clinch but can't.

Faber pulls guard successfully.
Faber is trying to control the position but Kelleher postures up. Faber manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Faber can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kelleher is looking to escape. Kelleher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Faber postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kelleher looks a forlorn figure.
Faber looking to secure an arm triangle but Kelleher defends it well. Kelleher can't escape the position.
Kelleher is squirming around, avoiding Faber's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber lands a big shot there that rocks Kelleher but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kelleher is in all sorts of trouble here.
Faber working away from the top, dropping strikes. Faber has hold of Kelleher's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kelleher manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kelleher is trying desperately to improve position. Kelleher tries to hold on but Faber postures up. Faber scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Faber with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Faber cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Faber has isolated one of Kelleher's arms. Kelleher looking to fight him off but Faber twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
