Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buggy Clown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock has chosen Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue as his entrance music. Buggy Clown has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clown darts in looking for a takedown but Shamrock gets double underhooks and turns Clown into the cage.

Clown shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shamrock sprawls well. Shamrock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Clown gets slowly back to his feet.

Shamrock's coach down at Hilo Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shamrock's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Clown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shamrock swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Clown throws a strike but Shamrock rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Shamrock avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Clown escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shamrock postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Clown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shamrock is looking to stand up but Clown won't let him.

Clown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shamrock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Shamrock is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clown is on top in guard.

Clown drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shamrock manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clown has Shamrock in his guard.

Buggy Clown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Clown has hold of Shamrock's hands but Shamrock slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Clown changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shamrock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Clown goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shamrock has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Clown but great work by Shamrock.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buggy Clown.
I think Clown has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
