Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Pigeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pigeon comes to the ring accompanied by Hank Williams Jr. - Country Boy Can Survive. Harry Pigeon is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Pigeon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wes Walker!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pigeon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Walker has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Walker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pigeon on the side of the head.
Walker misses with an uppercut.
Walker misses with a looping left.
Walker misses with the combination.
Pigeon swings widly with a right hand
and Walker counters with a one-two to the body.
Walker throws a lazy right hand but Pigeon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Walker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Walker scores with a hook.
Pigeon shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walker falls off balance throwing a combination

and Pigeon counters with a shoot takedown. Walker fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Pigeon is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Harry Pigeon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Walker slips under a jab.
Walker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pigeon is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Walker looks to throw the jab but Pigeon is out of range.
Walker misses with a hook. Pigeon ducked under it nicely.
Walker digs a good body shot into Pigeon's ribs.

Pigeon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walker sprawls well initially but Pigeon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Walker won't allow Pigeon to pass to mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Walker tries to roll over but Pigeon keeps him under control.
Pigeon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walker's head.
Pigeon prevents Walker from improving his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pigeon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pigeon stalling away here and it's allowed Walker to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Pigeon won't allow Walker to sweep him here.

Walker looking for a sweep. Not yet Walker, not yet.
Pigeon wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Pigeon trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Walker is looking to stand up but Pigeon isn't so interested in that idea.
Walker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pigeon stands and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Walker wants to control but Pigeon postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walker stops Pigeon from passing to mount.

Pigeon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Walker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pigeon but great work by Walker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harry Pigeon will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Walker looks to land a combination but Pigeon avoids it well.
Walker connects with a body shot that sends Pigeon's belly button to the back.
Walker throws a hook to the side of Pigeon's head but Pigeon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pigeon moves out of range of the strikes.
Walker misses with a looping right.
Walker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pigeon.

and Pigeon counters with a nice leg kick.
Pigeon misses the body punch
and Walker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pigeon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pigeon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Pigeon drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Walker lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pigeon thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pigeon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Walker.
Walker loads up on a big right hand but Pigeon slips the punch.
Walker lands with a straight right. Pigeon didn't see that one coming.
Walker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pigeon counters with a nice uppercut.
Pigeon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Walker sprawls well. Walker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pigeon gets slowly back to his feet.

Walker throws a lazy right hand but Pigeon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pigeon misses with a takedown attempt - Walker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pigeon moves away.

Pigeon dodges the punch combination from Walker.
Walker scores with a jab.
Pigeon dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Pigeon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walker swings wildly with an uppercut but Pigeon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walker cracks Pigeon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Walker misses with a straight left.
Walker wants to land a leg kick but Pigeon is out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pigeon. Walker does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pigeon cracks Walker with a right hand to the side of the head.
Walker misses with a series of wild punches.
Pigeon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Walker looks to land a right hand but Pigeon moved out of range.
Walker lands with an overhand left.
Walker looks to throw the jab but Pigeon is out of range.
Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Pigeon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pigeon is looking for a kimura but Walker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pigeon to get the leverage.
Pigeon prevents Walker from standing back up.
Pigeon wants to free his trapped foot but Walker is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pigeon is working for a submission of some sort.

Pigeon throwing shots but Walker is blocking nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pigeon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Walker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Walker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pigeon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pigeon's back!
You can see the frustration on Pigeon's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wes Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Walker tries to bum rush Pigeon with a series of wild strikes but Pigeon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pigeon slips a jab and a cross from Walker.
Walker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pigeon.
Wes Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pigeon looks to land a right hand but Walker moved out of range.
Walker takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Walker loads up on a big right hand but Pigeon slips the punch.
Pigeon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Pigeon uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Walker.

Pigeon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Walker throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The fighters circling - Walker throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Pigeon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Pigeon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Walker's guard now.

We've been hearing that Pigeon has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.
Pigeon is trying to control the position but Walker postures up.

Walker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Walker is looking to stand up but Pigeon won't let him.
Pigeon looking for a sweep. Not yet Pigeon, not yet.
Walker trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pigeon's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pigeon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.

Pigeon is working an open guard so Walker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Pigeon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Walker was well out of range. Poor timing from Pigeon.

Harry Pigeon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pigeon is looking to advance position but Walker won't allow it.

Walker tries to get to full guard but Pigeon has control of the leg.
Pigeon is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pigeon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Pigeon seems to be working for a kimura but Walker defends the submission attempt.
Pigeon wants to pass the guard but Walker is defending well.
Walker is looking for a sweep. Pigeon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pigeon passes the guard and advances to mount!

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Pigeon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
