PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ravil Lebedev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lebedev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Come the Revolution kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Lee Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ravil Lebedev!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lebedev tries to clinch but Jackson moves out of range.
Lebedev is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Lebedev sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jackson has been working on his balance at Outlaws Paradise, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Lebedev.
Lebedev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lebedev clinches with his opponent.
Lebedev goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lebedev misses with a body punch.
Lebedev misses with a punch to the body.

Lebedev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lebedev is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jackson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Lebedev.
Jackson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lebedev loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch.
Jackson scores with a shot to the body.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Lebedev.
Lebedev misses with a wild body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lebedev moves out of range as Jackson strikes.
Lebedev tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Jackson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jackson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jackson controls the position.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lebedev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jackson tries to advance to mount but can't.

Jackson working the ground and pound but Lebedev is defending the strikes.
Lebedev tries to escape but Jackson is in control.

Jackson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lebedev rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jackson's guard! Nice work there by Lebedev!
Lebedev lands a couple of elbows.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Lebedev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jackson throws a big right hand that misses.
Jackson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lebedev keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lee Jackson.

Jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lebedev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jackson laying and praying for a moment but Lebedev takes advantage and regains half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson is looking for a kimura here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Jackson dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson connects with a nice looking jab.
Lebedev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lebedev scrambles back to his feet.
Nice cross by Jackson.
Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Lebedev moves into the clinch.

Jackson has clasped his hands together around Lebedev's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lebedev keeps working.
Lebedev prevents Jackson from improving position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jackson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lebedev has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jackson but great work by Lebedev.
Jackson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lebedev cracks Jackson with a big elbow.
Sloppy strikes there by Lebedev.
Lebedev connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jackson some visible discomfort.


It looks like Lee Jackson has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.


Lee Jackson's cut is getting worse.
Lebedev is chipping away with strikes.

Jackson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jackson gets full guard.
Jackson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lebedev.
Lebedev scores with a decent looking elbow strike.


Lee Jackson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lebedev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.
Lebedev throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Lebedev keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lebedev keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.

Jackson passes Lebedev's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lebedev keeps working.
Jackson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Jackson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jackson throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Jackson goes for an armbar but Lebedev turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lebedev.
Lebedev postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.


Jeez, Lee Jackson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lee Jackson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ravil Lebedev!
