Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hemingway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thorpe comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Sawyer by Rush. Hemingway is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Respect. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Thorpe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hemingway! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemingway shoots in but no luck this time. Hemingway looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thorpe is fending him off so far but Hemingway persists. Nope, Thorpe circles away and we're back to standing. We've been told by Thorpe's head coaches at Stark Slugger Society - NY that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Thorpe looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Thorpe lands a couple of elbows. Thorpe trying to control but Hemingway is working from the bottom. Thorpe lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hemingway seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thorpe scoring with punches to the head and body.
It looks like James Hemingway has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hemingway preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Thorpe stops Hemingway from standing up. Thorpe throws a strike but Hemingway rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hemingway working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hemingway won't allow Thorpe to get back to his feet. Hemingway throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Thorpe wants to stand but Hemingway is controlling the position. Hemingway trying to control but Thorpe is working from the bottom. Hemingway prevents Thorpe from getting back to his feet. Hemingway wants to control from the top but Thorpe keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hemingway wants to pass the guard but Thorpe is keeping the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Hemingway. Hemingway shoots in for a takedown but Thorpe shows good takedown defense. Scott Thorpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Hemingway. Nice takedown defense from Thorpe. No joy for Hemingway on that attempt. Hemingway tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thorpe defends well and Hemingway ends up having to push Thorpe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Thorpe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hemingway avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Thorpe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hemingway.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorpe breaks from the clinch.
Hemingway gets in close and instigates a clinch. Thorpe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Thorpe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hemingway keeping moving, preventing Thorpe from controlling successfully. Thorpe won't allow Hemingway to sweep him here. Thorpe throwing strikes but missing. Thorpe trying to control but Hemingway is working from the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Thorpe just wasn't active enough. No luck for Thorpe with that takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorpe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hemingway tries to avoid it but Thorpe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hemingway to the ground. Hemingway escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hemingway shoots for a double leg takedown but Thorpe sprawls well. He's pushed Hemingway's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Thorpe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hemingway napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thorpe takes a little break here. Hemingway wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Thorpe lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hemingway is trying to get back to half guard. Thorpe scoring with punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Thorpe dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Hemingway's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hemingway dives in and grabs Thorpe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thorpe pushes down on Hemingway's head and hops out. Thorpe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hemingway tries to get to full guard but Thorpe has control of the leg. Thorpe prevents Hemingway from standing back up.
Thorpe wants to free his trapped foot but Hemingway is holding on for dear life with his legs. Thorpe lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Thorpe seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Thorpe missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Thorpe working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thorpe wants to control but Hemingway is keeping him busy. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hemingway wants to improve his position but Thorpe is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorpe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hemingway is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hemingway is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Thorpe scores with a couple of nice shots. Thorpe is looking to take a break and control but Hemingway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hemingway trying to get back to full guard but Thorpe takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Thorpe landing strikes from the mount and Hemingway is in trouble! Hemingway is in a horrible position here. Thorpe smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That has opened up James Hemingway's cut even more. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hemingway is bucking up trying to escape but Thorpe cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
James Hemingway's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Hemingway's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Scott Thorpe! Scott Thorpe made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Boom goes the Dynamite!'.
