3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark McGillivary! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGillivary shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rush defends it nicely. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rush. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. McGillivary is not content to let Rush control the position. Rush throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Rush thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McGillivary wants to control but Rush postures up.

McGillivary shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rush pinned against the cage. Rush gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rush closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McGillivary quickly recovers to half guard. Rush passes the guard and advances to mount! Rush wants to control the action but instead McGillivary gets a body lock and reverses into Rush's guard! Nice work! McGillivary wants to control from the top but Rush keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

No, McGillivary has managed to get both his arms back between Rush's legs - danger averted. Mark McGillivary has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Georges Rush is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rush is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but McGillivary frees his head nicely. Oh but Rush has switched to an armbar! McGillivary is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
