Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reginald Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Reginald Dempsey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Rogers! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rogers lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rogers content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rogers throwing strikes from guard but Dempsey blocks nicely. Dempsey is pulling down on Rogers's head to control his posture. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rogers working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Rogers trying to control but Dempsey is working from the bottom. Rogers is stalling in the full guard. Rogers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dempsey is keeping the position for now. Rogers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rogers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers sitting in guard here, content to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Rogers is looking to advance position but Dempsey won't allow it. Rogers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rogers sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dempsey defending well though. Rogers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dempsey's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Dempsey wants to get back to full guard but Rogers has passed into side control. Rogers trying to control the position but Dempsey is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dempsey! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dempsey is bucking up trying to escape but Rogers cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Dempsey wants to hold on but Rogers pushes him away. Dempsey takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Rogers lands a couple of good shots and Dempsey has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Dempsey is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The referee is taking a good look at Dempsey as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Rogers!
Rogers lands a shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Dempsey!
Will Rogers go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Rogers has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Dempsey.
Dempsey is rocked! Rogers not allowing Dempsey to control his hands. Dempsey staying busy and making it hard for Rogers to control. Rogers is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Rogers is punishing Dempsey with some ground and pound. Oh Dempsey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rogers lands a good shot there. Dempsey covers up! Rogers smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Dempsey to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Rogers jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Rogers! A very excited looking Steve Rogers made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
