Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Saltzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Monster. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Saltzman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edward Durden! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saltzman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Saltzman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Durden's waist but Durden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Saltzman off to one side. Durden stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Saltzman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Durden darts in looking for a takedown but Saltzman gets double underhooks and turns Durden into the cage. Saltzman wants a takedown.
Durden goes for a takedown attempt but Saltzman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Saltzman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Durden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Saltzman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Saltzman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saltzman tries to get out of the position. Durden throws a big right hand that misses. Durden with a flurry of punches that miss. Durden wants to control from the top but Saltzman keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Edward Durden hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Durden fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Saltzman counter with a right hand. Saltzman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Saltzman tries for a takedown but Durden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Saltzman as Durden shoots in. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Durden is defended easily by Saltzman. Durden moves in looking to clinch but Saltzman pushes him off. Jon Saltzman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Saltzman. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Durden is defended easily by Saltzman. Durden gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saltzman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Durden is defending well. Durden has picked Saltzman up - he's going for a ride! Durden dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durden not landing any meaningful shots this time. Durden is looking for submissions but instead, Saltzman has regained full guard.
Durden lands a couple of digs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Durden trying to control but Saltzman is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saltzman tries to sprawl but Durden drives through with a takedown into half guard. Durden trying to control the action but Saltzman is working from the bottom. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Durden lands a nice short elbow. Durden not landing any meaningful shots this time. Saltzman is not content to let Durden control the position. Saltzman kicks Durden off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Durden throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Saltzman works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Durden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Durden thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Saltzman's head. Edward Durden has got the better of the ground game so far. Durden throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ground and pound from Durden. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saltzman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saltzman regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Durden. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Durden lands a couple of decent looking shots. Saltzman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Durden. Durden connects with a couple of short punches. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Durden stands up over Saltzman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Durden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Saltzman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Saltzman keeping moving, preventing Durden from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durden controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Durden lands a couple of elbows. Durden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Durden postures up in Saltzman's guard and throws a big left but Saltzman blocks it. Durden trying to control the position from guard on top but Saltzman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Durden with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saltzman keeping moving, preventing Durden from controlling successfully. Durden scoring with punches to the head and body. Durden works over Saltzman with some ground and pound from guard. Durden trying to control the position from guard on top but Saltzman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Durden is looking to work some ground and pound but Saltzman has wrist control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Saltzman keeping moving, preventing Durden from controlling successfully. Durden throws a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edward Durden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Durden closes the distance and pushes Saltzman back into the cage. Durden wants a takedown.

Saltzman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Durden avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Durden is defending well against a takedown attempt. Saltzman has Durden pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Durden manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Saltzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Durden trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Durden looking to sit in guard and control but Saltzman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Saltzman postures up in Durden's guard and throws a big left but Durden blocks it.

Durden is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Durden not landing any meaningful shots this time. Durden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Durden looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saltzman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Durden throwing shots but Saltzman is blocking nicely.

Durden thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Saltzman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Saltzman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Durden. Durden is trying to control the action in half guard but Saltzman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Durden is trying to work for a kimura but Saltzman is defending well.
Durden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Saltzman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Durden.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saltzman is refusing to be controlled, as Durden sits in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Durden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Edward Durden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Durden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
