PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Built Win (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Win might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to FORE THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Built Win!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Bova!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Win avoids the head kick by Bova.
Bova throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Win cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anthony Bova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bova bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Win can't do much from the bottom here.
Bova cracks Win with a big elbow.
Win tries to buck Bova off but Bova is having none of it.
The strikes coming from Bova are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bova closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Win's guard.

Bova stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Win swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bova tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Win manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bova throws a right and a left that Win avoids nicely.

Bova got a little sloppy there for a moment and Win has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bova has managed to get both his arms back between Win's legs - danger averted.

Bova drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bova jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bova stands up over Win, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Win escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bova gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Win lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bova!

Win goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bova is on top in guard.
Bova wants to stand but Win is controlling his posture from full guard.

Win working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bova doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bova manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bova has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Win is proving hard to escape from.

Win is trying to keep Bova in close.
Win is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bova has control of Win's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Win regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bova cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Win is rocked!

Whack. That's a big, big shot from Bova! Win is out cold! This one is all over!
