Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alphonse Gangitano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartholomew Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roach has chosen The Simpsons Theme Song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bartholomew Roach has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roach scores with a jab.
Roach throws a front kick that sends Gangitano stumbling back into the cage.
Gangitano walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Roach has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Roach throws the kick towards the body but Gangitano avoids it.
Bartholomew Roach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roach misses with a looping right.
Roach tries to clinch but Gangitano moves out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gangitano bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Roach pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Roach misses with a looping left.
Gangitano lands with a nice body kick.
Gangitano looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Roach is trying is best to control the position here.

Roach is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gangitano is aware though and is defending well.

Gangitano makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Roach has his foot on Gangitano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gangitano works his way back into a safe position though.

Gangitano scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roach isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gangitano stacks Roach on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gangitano!
You can see the frustration on Roach's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gangitano tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Gangitano works to advance to full mount. Roach defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Gangitano is landing with some decent strikes but Roach is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

A big strike lands for Gangitano! That's really hurt Roach and he's turned his back - Gangitano keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Gangitano jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alphonse Gangitano!
