Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ali Basra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Plainview!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plainview ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Basra takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Plainview throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Plainview has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Basra is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Basra takes a swing at Plainview's ribcage but misses.
Basra throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Basra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Plainview.

Basra has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Well Plainview has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
