The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Johnson. Nice takedown defense from Henley. No joy for Johnson on that attempt. Henley lands a jab to Johnson's midsection. Henley lands with a right hand.
It looks like Greg Johnson has been cut. Johnson tries to clinch but Henley moves out of range. Henley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Johnson's head backwards. Henley lands a nice shot that snaps Johnson's head back.
Johnson just misses with a punch to the body.
Henley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Johnson. Henley lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson gets a double leg takedown into Henley's guard. Johnson trying to control but Henley is working from the bottom. Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Henley dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Johnson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Johnson is looking for a triangle here but Henley uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henley is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him
Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Henley really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Henley bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Johnson working for submissions but it's allowed Henley to get to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Henley stalling. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Oscar Henley. Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oscar Henley dominated that round. The cut man is working on Greg Johnson's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Henley circles away.
Henley misses with a left hand enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab. Johnson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Henley connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Henley swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Henley misses with a straight left. Henley lands a right hook to the body.
Henley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson. Henley misses with a right hand and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Henley backing up. Henley nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes. Johnson is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jab by Henley. Henley lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Johnson at a distance.
Henley throws a good cross that connects.
Henley is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Henley. Henley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Henley lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Henley. Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A cross from Henley lands. Henley throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Greg Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Henley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Johnson is rocked! Henley cracks Johnson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Johnson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Henley pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Johnson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oscar Henley!
