Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mertsi Peltola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanner comes to the cage accompanied by Mr. Tanner. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peltola clobbers Tanner with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Tanner tries to bum rush Peltola with a series of wild strikes but Peltola uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Tanner takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nice uppercut lands for Tanner. That snapped Peltola's head back.
It looks like Mertsi Peltola has been cut.
Peltola lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Tanner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peltola paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Peltola. Tanner does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tanner takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mertsi Peltola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peltola fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tanner manages to avoid it.
Tanner tries to close the distance and clinch but Peltola swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Peltola throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tanner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Peltola swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Peltola shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tanner sprawls well. Tanner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peltola gets slowly back to his feet.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Peltola has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
