PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Pikachoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulione Scneider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scneider has chosen UnderGroundKings as his entrance music. David Pikachoo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Pikachoo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paulione Scneider!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scneider misses with a looping right.
Pikachoo tries to clinch but Scneider is having none of it.
An inside leg kick lands from Scneider.
Scneider throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pikachoo moves away from the strike by Scneider.
Scneider misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pikachoo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scneider.
Pikachoo tries to close the distance and clinch but Scneider swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pikachoo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Scneider.

Pikachoo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pikachoo winds up and cracks Scneider with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Scneider is not content to let Pikachoo control the position.

Pikachoo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Scneider has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pikachoo is keen to just control but Scneider is a slippery customer.

Pikachoo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scneider does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Pikachoo wants to take a breather but Scneider is having none of it.
Pikachoo is really struggling to control Scneider but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Pikachoo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pikachoo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Pikachoo is trying to work for a kimura but Scneider is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pikachoo prevents Scneider from improving his position.
Pikachoo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Still in half guard, Pikachoo seems content to control.
Scneider makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scneider.

Pikachoo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scneider has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pikachoo has managed to get both his arms back between Scneider's legs - danger averted.
Pikachoo is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $275 fee) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Scneider has an active guard here but Pikachoo has managed to pass into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Pikachoo will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Pikachoo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scneider circles away quickly and effectively.
Scneider tries to score with a low kick but Pikachoo moves his leg out of the way.
Scneider connects with a leg kick. Pikachoo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pikachoo blocks a low kick nicely.
Scneider rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Pikachoo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Scneider's guard now.
Scneider throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Scneider has momentary wrist control but Pikachoo slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scneider has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pikachoo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scneider has his feet on Pikachoo's thighs here. He's pushed Pikachoo off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Pikachoo screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
