Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Peixoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miralles Cezar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peixoto comes into the arena with A minha Alma blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cezar stuffs the takedown attempt from Peixoto. Peixoto gets slowly back to his feet.
Peixoto shoots and misses
and Cezar counters with a single leg into guard. Peixoto didn't expect that.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Peixoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cezar defends well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peixoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cezar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Peixoto looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cezar passes into half guard.
Cezar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Peixoto has a hand on Cezar's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Cezar takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I really don't envy Peixoto right now.
Cezar slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cezar controls the position.

Peixoto is having to fend off submission attempts from Cezar, who is looking to sink in the choke. Cezar doesn't have the hooks in though and Peixoto manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Cezar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Peixoto has gone for a leg lock! Cezar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peixoto's guard.
Peixoto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cezar is not content to let Peixoto control the position.
Peixoto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peixoto maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cezar could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Peixoto has cracked it and Cezar is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Peixoto!

In his post fight interview, Matheus Peixoto started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
