PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jubei Yagyu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hollow Ichigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ichigo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lamb Of God - Walk With Me In Hell. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yagyu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yagyu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Yagyu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ichigo is not content to let Yagyu control the position.
Ichigo is looking for a sweep.
Yagyu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ichigo keeps working.

Yagyu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ichigo tries to buck Yagyu off but Yagyu is having none of it.
Yagyu advances to mount.
Yagyu thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Ichigo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Yagyu.

Ichigo is trying desperately to improve position.
Yagyu sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Yagyu looking to secure an arm triangle but Ichigo defends it well.
Ichigo manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Ichigo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Yagyu.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ichigo missing with punches from the bottom.
Ichigo is pressing down on Yagyu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ichigo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Yagyu trying to control the position from guard on top but Ichigo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ichigo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ichigo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yagyu is one step ahead there.
Yagyu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Yagyu swats away the attempt to clinch by Ichigo.
A combination from Ichigo does no damage.
Ichigo wants to clinch.
Ichigo doesn't manage to clinch there - Yagyu circles away.
Yagyu throws a head kick but Ichigo moves out of range.
Yagyu throws a leg kick but Ichigo moved away.
Ichigo is looking to clinch but Yagyu is avoiding it.

Ichigo drives through and clinches with Yagyu against the cage.

Ichigo is pressed up against the cage. Yagyu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ichigo down to the mat. Ichigo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ichigo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ichigo looks gassed!
Ichigo throws a head kick that Yagyu semi-blocks.
Yagyu shoots in and drives through. Ichigo sprawls well.
Ichigo tries to clinch up but Yagyu circles away and keeps his distance.
Ichigo wants to clinch up but Yagyu keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Yagyu or perhaps it was just good defense by Ichigo which made him look bad.

Hollow Ichigo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yagyu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ichigo moves away.
Ichigo tries to clinch there but Yagyu circles away.
Ichigo wants to slow Yagyu down by chopping away at his legs.

Ichigo closes the distance and clinches.
Yagyu is trying to break free.

Ichigo breaks from the clinch.
Ichigo tries to close the distance and clinch but Yagyu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Yagyu tries a low kick but Ichigo avoids it.
Ichigo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yagyu as he avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Yagyu.
Ichigo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ichigo.
Yagyu shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hollow Ichigo dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ichigo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yagyu circles away from the clinch attempt.

Yagyu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ichigo's waist but Ichigo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yagyu off to one side.
Yagyu throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ichigo moves in looking to clinch but Yagyu pushes him off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yagyu misses with a takedown attempt - Ichigo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Yagyu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ichigo tries to avoid it but Yagyu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ichigo to the ground. Ichigo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yagyu circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yagyu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ichigo tries to clinch up but Yagyu circles away and keeps his distance.
Yagyu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ichigo as he jumps to the side.
Jubei Yagyu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Yagyu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ichigo with a flurry of punches that miss.

Ichigo wants to control from the top but Yagyu keeps moving.

Ichigo throws a sloppy strike and Yagyu has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Ichigo is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Yagyu!
