The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for MPumbu.
Hegel throws a right hand that misses
and MPumbu counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hegel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
MPumbu misses with a kick to the body.
Hegel throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Isaac MPumbu has been cut.
MPumbu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
MPumbu lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Martin Hegel has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

MPumbu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hegel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

MPumbu cracks Hegel with an open hand slap.
MPumbu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hegel sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hegel gets cracked with a nice right hand there by MPumbu.
MPumbu sizes up Hegel with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

MPumbu gets in close and instigates a clinch.
MPumbu misses with a punch on the inside.
MPumbu prevents Hegel from breaking the clinch.
MPumbu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hegel is defending well for now.

I was talking to Hegel's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
MPumbu swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.

Hegel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
MPumbu throws an elbow but it misses.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Isaac MPumbu.

Hegel looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hegel throws a hook to the side of MPumbu's head but MPumbu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

MPumbu tries a body shot but Hegel blocks it.

MPumbu throws a nice looking combination but Hegel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Isaac MPumbu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hegel slips a straight right by MPumbu.
MPumbu has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Hegel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A low kick from MPumbu is predictable there
and Hegel counters with a flying knee. Nice.
MPumbu scoring well with a low kick there.
MPumbu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hegel's head backwards.

MPumbu closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Hegel crashing to the mat! Hegel uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

MPumbu throws a head kick that misses.
MPumbu connects with a quick right hand that sends Hegel tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
