The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tachibana tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cox manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tachibana tries to bum rush Cox with a series of wild strikes but Cox uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Akise Tachibana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tachibana is looking to regain half guard here but Cox keeps moving and retains side control.
Tachibana tries to escape but Cox is in control.
Cox postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
