Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goncalves as he jumps to the side.
Valentine dives in and grabs Goncalves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goncalves pushes down on Valentine's head and hops out.
Goncalves shoots in for a takedown but Valentine shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Goncalves.
Goncalves shoots in but Valentine avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Valentine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nice takedown defense from Valentine. No joy for Goncalves on that attempt.
Todd Valentine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dercy Goncalves.
Valentine shoots in looking for a takedown. Goncalves tries to sprawl out of it but Valentine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goncalves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Goncalves fails in his attempt to clinch.

Goncalves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Valentine tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Goncalves is in Valentine's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Valentine holds on and takes a little breather.
Goncalves throwing strikes from guard but Valentine blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goncalves has gone for a leg lock! Valentine slips out almost immediately though and dives into Goncalves's guard.
Valentine has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Valentine working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Valentine is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Goncalves has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Valentine is looking to defend but Goncalves has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Valentine! Goncalves pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Valentine taps out and this one is all over!
