The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jigster misses with a wild combination.
Jigster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Burgundy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Burgundy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Burgundy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Jigster manages to work his way to half guard, despite Burgundy's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jigster has hold of Burgundy's hands but Burgundy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Burgundy tries to pass to full mount but Jigster defends it.
Jigster is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Burgundy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Burgundy's back!
Burgundy defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Jigster's arms.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
