1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rsghrhr Hrjrgjsjs! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VelJohnson gets caught napping as Hrjrgjsjs dives in and scores a takedown. VelJohnson manages to retain guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hrjrgjsjs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hrjrgjsjs scores with a decent looking elbow strike. VelJohnson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
VelJohnson is looking for a triangle but Hrjrgjsjs pushes his legs off easily.
VelJohnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hrjrgjsjs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hrjrgjsjs controlling from the top position. Hrjrgjsjs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hrjrgjsjs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hrjrgjsjs trying to control the position from guard on top but VelJohnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. VelJohnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. VelJohnson keeping moving, preventing Hrjrgjsjs from controlling successfully. VelJohnson being controlled here, momentarily. Hrjrgjsjs trying to control but VelJohnson is working from the bottom. Hrjrgjsjs pushing down on VelJohnson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
