Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakari Nurmi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nurmi has chosen Turisas -Take the day! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 25 - 2, fighting out of London, Fred Boyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sakari Nurmi! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nurmi misses with a body kick. Nurmi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Boyle slips nicely into half guard. Boyle is looking for a kimura here.
We've been hearing good reports from Boyle's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boyle is pressing down on Nurmi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nurmi is holding on for now. Boyle trying to control the action but Nurmi is working from the bottom. Nurmi trying to hold on to Boyle's head to control him but Boyle postures up.
Nurmi is not content to let Boyle control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nurmi trying to control from the bottom.
Boyle wants to work for an arm triangle but Nurmi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nurmi is looking for a sweep. Boyle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Boyle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nurmi tries to roll over but Boyle keeps him under control. Boyle moves nicely into side control. Boyle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nurmi, who protects the arm well. Boyle misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Nurmi told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyle is looking to take a break and control but Nurmi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nurmi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nurmi takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Nurmi is looking for a sweep. Boyle is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nurmi is trying to escape and Boyle transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nurmi is forced to tap! Nice work there by Boyle! Very nice indeed!
